Don't Miss

Building rapport with network marketing prospects who actually call you back!

I recently had someone come up to me at an event and told me they kept my book, ‘79 Network Marketing Tips For Fast-Track Success‘, right beside the toilet! Unsure whether this was as a back-up plan in case of possible disaster, I was assured this was a compliment! They went on to tell me it was because the book was so simple with short, one and two page tips that they could absorb each time they were there with ‘some time to kill’.

I chose not to dwell for too long on the images that conjured up, but I do know that network marketing distributors from whichever MLM company they represent, are always keen on simple ideas that they can implement easily.

Believe it or not but I haven’t reread my book too many times (the proof-reading process that seems never-ending kind of changes ones love for their own work!), so I can’t actually recall whether this tip made it in or not, but just yesterday my phone rang and it was from a prospect for my network marketing business who I haven’t spoken to for about 18 months.

He wasn’t someone I originally had any friendship with, so his name wasn’t easily to recollect, in fact, we only ever spoke once or twice and didn’t particularly bond. However, I was able to greet him like an old friend, and that really helped the conversation.

So here’s a tip for you: every prospect you call or speak to from your mobile, I save their name into my phone with the words ‘Bike shop Cust prospect’ or ‘Costa Coffee Dist prospect’ after it (as in, customer or distributor!) – so if you don’t get hold of them and they choose to call you back, or if they have thought over whatever period of time about your work from home business opportunity, when they call it flashes up ‘Steve Hurst Dentist Dist Prospect’. I use a word or two that gives me a clue how I know them too.

You can then answer and say “Hi Steve, good to hear from you – how’s things…how is the dental world …?” – and we have instant rapport.

It also means in future, if I have ten minutes to kill and want to make a call, I can just type ‘prospect’ into the search option of my phone and they’ll all pop up meaning I can call my ‘no for now’ people even if I don’t have my ‘no for now’ list on me.

Simple but very effective!

I hope this little tip helps you. Feel free to leave a comment below and share this link with those who you like to help.
