June may even be a man, who knows, but for the sake of this, June is a lady.
She probably is in real life.
He or she will know who he or she is though… June was going to be the BEST distributor ever. There’ll be plenty of people who think this is about them, and if you are thinking that, then it is, even if it isn’t!
June was raring to go. June told me several times how great she was going to be when she joined my network marketing business. How unstoppable she was going to be. We chatted a fair bit earlier this year…well I listened, and June talked. What I soon realised was, June liked the attention. June wanted the attention and kudos without the time and effort. June came up with spurious excuse after spurious excuse as to why she wasn’t going to join. None of them credible. None of them were good enough reasons not to have a residual income that changes the life of her and her family (and many others) in the future.
But if June did join…she would be the best distributor ever, bar none.
In her opinion.
So she told me.
Occasionally June reminds me how great she was going to be in this home-based business. It’s actually a bit boring because in this world there’s doers, and talkers. June is a talker. At least right now she is, though I know people can change. So are so many others. It’s easier to talk than do.
Whilst hoping the government will find a solution to the pension crisis which will cripple her and her family in the future. Sometimes she even comes across as smug about her decision not to join. Which! is hilarious.
Because if she never does join, then that smugness will erode over time when the harsh realities hit home. It’s easy to be the best distributor ever, from the sidelines. Some people do, some people talk.
Next time someone tells you they’ll be the best distributor ever, get out and look for five others. See, it happens to all of us. Doesn’t matter how long you have been in the business! She’s on my ‘no for now’ list, and I won’t prejudge the concept of her joining and succeeding in the future.
One of the things I love most about network marketing, is that, because the train has left the station, and isn’t going to be stopped by anyone, no-one (not you, I or even June) is going to prevent it reaching the destination. We can help it get there and help ourselves at the same time. But it’s going with or without us.
And in the time June has taken to court attention, and tell us how great she will be, and then failed to actually prove she isn’t just full of hot air, there’s been thousands of other people join and countless others get promotions.
And that’s why I admire every single one of you who is actually actively taking action, however fast or slow, alongside your kids, your work, your home life, and other constraints. And how you carry on when you hit a stumbling block or an objection. It means you are doers, not talkers. And it’s doers who will reach their goals in life. Good on you all!
