How to spot a network marketing superstar!

If you’re active in your network marketing business and you are regularly speaking to people, you’ll recognise what I experienced recently.

I did a follow-up call to someone who had watched the recruitment video. My jaw hit the ground and never regained its’ proper resting place with some of what he was saying:

“I’m gonna have 500 to 1000 customers in 6 months…”

“Ok. Which one? 500 or 1000?” I ask…

“Well probably 1000.”

“Ok cool.”

“I’m not gonna tell my customers about the opportunity, bro…”

“Ahhh but,” I ask, “how do you know that they wouldn’t want the same opportunity as I’m giving you?”

“Well I’m only gonna tell the ones that are gonna be successful cos I can tell”

“Oh ok, how can you tell cos I have been doing this 16 years and the only thing I know is that I don’t know.”

“No man…listen, I have a talent – I can tell”

“Ahh ok, cool, I believe you!”

“Yeah I was, like the best salesman at every job I have ever done. I always earn the most.”

“Ok, good good!” I reply, not sure what else to say!

“And all my distributors will, like, get 1000 customers each too then I can sit back. Cos it’s like a pyramid thing yeah.”

“Yes that’s right. You really seem to really have it sussed…”

“Yeah man, I have a talent you have never seen before.”

For fun I then asked – “Excellent….so are you ready to register then?!”

“Well I need to get the money together which might take a few days.”

I admire ambition but just in case, I thought I better make some more calls! Several months on, he’s still not joined!

Your words mean nothing when your actions are the complete opposite.

One of the skills I learned in network marketing is that you should avoid having excessive highs, or lows, when people say they’re going to do something, or they fail to deliver. As long as you know that you’re going to succeed irrespective, you can’t go wrong! If you’re going to build a big business you’ll need to deal with lots of different types of people who have some very grand stories but no actual output. That’s life, get on with it! you will learn how to spot a network marketing superstar if you haven’t already!
